A consultant with Bennett since the early nineties, Grant Calder worked side by side with its founder, Georgia Bennett, spearheading many of company’s endeavors, most notably its college and university counseling program. A professional member of IECA and a CEP (Certified Education Planner), Grant has guided innumerable Bennett families through the college application and admissions process and is known for his encyclopedic knowledge of U.S. college and university programs.
Grant’s expertise is not limited to the world of higher education; at Bennett, he has worked with international families moving into the United States with children of all ages and has managed numerous corporate clients, providing them with everything from tuition benchmarking surveys to education policy writing.
In recent years, Grant has become a widely recognized expert in college guidance and a frequent speaker at conferences and workshops. His articles on education appear frequently in The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Huffington Post (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/grant-calder/before-the-rankings-learn_b_3216537.html) and also at fromtheclassroom.com.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, with degrees in History and German, Grant has taught at Temple University, the Middlesex School and Choate Rosemary Hall. He currently teaches History and German and is the Director of College Counseling at Friends Central School in the suburbs of Philadelphia.
